Galtellì is under the slopes of the Tuttavista Mount. The village, authentic small village of Italy and Orange flag municipality of the Touring Club of Italy, has still intact the perspectives that inspired the Literature Nobel Price Grazia Deledda, who used Galtellì as the set of her famous book Canne al vento. From the access gate to the Literary Park (Parco Letterario), it is possible to organise a visit to the places described in her books. The heritage of history, sacred art, architecture and archaeology is found in many evidences of a glorious past kept in the ruins of the Pontes Castle, in the Romanesque cathedral of St. Peter and in the Parish Church of the Holy Crucifix (del SS Crocifisso), patron of the village, where you can see the wonderful wooden statue of the Christ of 1300. The historical – museum route continues with the ethnologic museum Sa Domo ‘e sos Marras which describes the rural life and the craftwork tradition of the village, until the Guzzetti Castle and all domus de janas di malìcas. The Tuttavista Mount offers interesting trips to discover the natural treasures, like “Sa Preta Istampata” and the huge bronze statue of the Christ that rises above the valley. Many are the religious and cultural events and the welcoming structures offering a comfortable and relaxing stay.
