Orosei, has a lively and well-kept historical centre, rich of valuable works of rural architecture, churches and e exclusive homes. The visit of these buildings is surely worthwhile: the Museum Guiso, the Parish church of St. James (parrocchiale di san Giacomo), the Church of the rosary (Chiesa Del Rosario), the Church of the spirits (delle Anime), and the Church of St. Antony the Great (di san Antonio Abate) once a country sanctuary, is a site of the celebration of the ceremony of the bonfire (rito del falò), on January 16 of each year. In the Torre pisana, in the sanctuary courtyard, you can find an exposition of local craftwork. Also interesting are the celebrations of the festa di Santa Maria ‘e mare, of the Madonna del Rimedio and the rites of the holy week (settimana santa). The sea is the predominant element of orosei landscapes, with its multicoloured perspectives, changing colours and incredible transparency, framed by pinewood, Mediterranean scrub and rocks of rose granite and basalt. The long coast includes 14 km of beach from Osala (under the 'nuraghe' with the same name) until the reserve of Bidderosa and its depths having a strong attraction for the scuba divers. Orosei offers delightful stay in various structures like hotels, residence, holiday farms and B&B in the whole area.
